American Correctional Association Top Ten Best Seller

For me it was the honorable Lonnie Jackson.....that gave me much love, wisdom, discipline, and taught me the power of knowledge of self

Anthony, Former Gang Member
MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility

Motivational/Inspirational Speaker - Lonnie's dynamic, engaging, humorous, and empowering presentation style allows him to do more than communicate and talk: Lonnie will connect and touch his audiences.

His personal testimony reflects the realities of growing up in a single parent household (his mother raised 3 boys) and surviving in a tough, gang-affected, violent, and drug-infested area of South Central Los Angeles.

Lonnie has an Inspiring story of how, after growing up in an all black inner-city area of Los Angeles, he received the opportunity to attend a private predominately white university with a reputation for high academic standards in Salem, Oregon. The incredible culture shock and significant challenges he overcame to succeed won't just motivate you...they will move you.

This is Lonnie's amazing story of working at Oregon's largest juvenile correctional facility, where he advocated starting a Minority Youth Concerns program. Lonnie volunteered his own time to this program, which brought together rival members of the notorious Crips, Bloods, Hispanic, and even Skinhead/White Supremacist gangs, while overcoming the resistance and potential problems it could create in facilities.

Race Talks by Lonnie JacksonLonnie will keep you spellbound as he shares his motivation, passion, and vision for founding this powerful and innovative program.

Believing youth offenders have the power to change, Lonnie will share his strategies, services, and the personal commitment it took to provide knowledge of self, options, alternatives, and most importantly HOPE to youth offenders caught up in the vicious cycle of crime, gangs, drugs, violence, and the criminal justice system.

Lonnie will continue to captivate you as he shares how this program has evolved into the funded state-wide Office of Multi-Cultural Services (OMS) for the Oregon Youth Authority and how he became the Director of this program. OMS is very innovative and the only one of it's kind in a juvenile correctional agency in the United States. It provides a wide array of services to youth, staff, management, and OYA's many partners and stakeholders. OMS has assisted numerous youth offenders into becoming positive and productive young people returning to their communities.

East/Metro Economic Alliance Meeting - 2016

Lonnie Jackson, President of Jackson and Associates was the featured speaker on "What Can Be Done to Prevent Gangs from becoming Entrenched in the Community".

quoteDear Mr. Jackson,
Thank you for being a speaker at RACE TALKS May 13, 2014 on the topic of Where Pushouts Can Lead: The Penal System. Your presentation was highly informative with visuals that gave a much clearer understanding of the issues that boys of color face in the USA being pushed out of schools into the penal system. The audience was VERY inspired by your comments. We still had some folks discussing the issue at 10pm an hour after the presentations were finished!  This is the desired effect that we hope for in each of our RACE TALKS presentations: for the audience to be inspired and moved to action.

Thank you again for speaking at RACE TALKS.quote
